After having launched the Tube Cabinet at Salone del Mobile 2016, Maarten Baptist further explores the opportunities of using tubes as base material. In the Tube Table, the base is distinctly recognisable as building material. It turns into furniture by only a minor intervention: three small eye-shaped holes and three lines in the length of the tubes are laser-cut in a 150mm diameter round tube, creating the legs. They are bent outward and affixed with a little welding.
The tables can be customised to any size and shape. For the Kazerne lab inventory project a series of tables was made with a diameter of 160 cm. The table top is made from form ‘ARPA Fenix’.
